Funky & Flowy Explained

Each season, the Funky & Flowy groups focus on a specific style, allowing dancers to train in many additional styles over the years.

'25-'26 Season Styles:

Funky: Jazz Funk | A fusion of jazz and funk styles, often incorporating hip hop influences, and sometimes elements of ballet and tap. It's characterized by expressiveness, a strong emphasis on the downbeat, and a combination of smooth, flowing movements and sharp, powerful isolations and accents.

Flowy: Contemporary | A fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz, characterized by expression, flexibility, extensions, and turns. This diverse and constantly changing art form emphasizes freedom from structure and embracing improvisation and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of traditional forms.
