Dashing Dancers Primary Ballet 1 (5's Ballet)

Dashing Dancers is a weekly, one hour Primary Ballet 1 class designed for children who are 5 on October 1 of the school year in which class begins.

Dashing Dancers perform primary ballet skills that are just right for a 5 year-old's developmental abilities. As compared to a pre-ballet class, primary dancers' increased muscle strength and control, along with greater cognitive capabilities, mean that these dancers work turned out a majority of the time, start to learn more complex arm positions and movements, and enjoy learning more intricate group movement patterns.  Students continue to increase in their knowledge and understanding of  French terminology. Exercises to increase musical awareness, balance, agility and gross motor development continue to be practiced.  Because five's easily relate the world of pretend play to real life, skills are often introduced through imaginative story lines. The intentional use of props such as ribbon rings and scarves foster creativity and artistry, & provide a deeper understanding of concepts presented in class, such as sharp and smooth movement. All of this adds up to developmentally appropriate ballet technique for 5 year-olds presented in a fun, kid-friendly atmosphere.

Your child and up to 9 friends will enjoy an exciting one hour dance class tailored to your child and his or her group of guests, followed by 30 minutes for treats and gifts.  We have a fabulous Sofia the First party plan for your little princesses, or we can custom design a party based on your party theme!

How it works: We provide the dance party and basic party favor bags* as well as support during the party from set up to tear down. You provide all desired food, table wear and table decorations. You forward your guests an email from us with a link to register for the party; we send them a confirmation with everything they need to know from how to get there to what to wear to when to pick their child up.

  • We will assist you in setting up the party table 30 minutes prior to the start of the party. Coloring sheets will be provided to keep guests busy as they arrive.
  • We will kick off the party with a one hour dance class for the birthday child and guests. The birthday child's parent(s) stays in the studio during the party and may take pictures and video.
  • The last 30 minutes will consist of serving cake and ice cream (or whatever refreshments you provide) and opening gifts.
    • We will assist you in collecting wrapping paper, gift bags, etc. so that you can enjoy watching your child. We will create a list of which gifts are from which guests to help your child with thank you notes.
  • After the party ends, we will clean up. You can take your birthday child and all of his or her new gifts and head to your clean house (or at least your not-trashed-by-a-birthday-party house)!

Cost: $100 for up to 10 children.

Please call 260-246-1310 or email info@puredanceworks.com to reserve your spot today!

Minimum age for a birthday party is 3.

*Party favor bags typically consist of a fun pencil, age-appropriate tattos, and other simple party favors. A stand-up gift bag is labeled with each guest's name, and we add their coloring sheets, any party favors you choose to provide, and/or any crafts you choose to bring to each guest's bag. Handing each guest his or her party favor bag as they leave is a snap!

Field trips at Pure Dance Works are limited to a maximum of 8-12 children, depending on the age group. If we come to your facility we can accommodate more participants as your space allows.

The sky is the limit...just let us know what your objectives are and we will customize a class just for your group!
